I have the $190 Dremel scroll saw in question, and it works fairly
well except for the chinzy blower, which is pretty useless. I like the
adjustable hold-down guard, even though it can dent the work, rather
than the spring-loaded version which comes on cheaper saws. The two
speeds are pretty crucial, allowing the cutting of plastic and metal
besides wood.
I have learned not to break blades anymore, because when they did
break, I could get hit in the face: Who cares about scraping the work!
On the Dremel, there is a plastic guard which would prevent this but
it impairs visibility of the work. Hegner clamps, which seem to be
widely recommended because they tilt but don't fly off, do not work on
this saw.
There is now a (2-speed? 16"?) Delta saw in this $200 market, with
some of the conveniences of their $800 model, and you might be wise to
compare the two before buying. Has anybody here examined the new Delta
in detail?
