First, I'll admit that I'm no expert with scrol saws, but I do have some
simple observations (the first being a spelling issue).
If you think about it, you can cut 360 degree turns with ANY blade (even a
36 inch circular saw), its just a matter of how TIGHT a turn you'll be able
to get with any given blade size/design. In other words, It will (just about)
always be possible to have a turn in mind which is too tight for a given
blade (even a scroll saw blade).
In your post, you did not mention the type of blade, including its size, and
the type of material which you are cutting.
On my band saw and circular saw it has been my personal observation that
blade type/size/design combined with material type/size and required radius
determine whether or not I can make certain designs. I would think that
blade thickness and blade width would be the most important parameters in an
equation to calculate maximum turning.
Then again, your machine may be junk. Although, I've seen some adequate
bench top models for the price range that you've quoted.
