The only thought that comes to mind is that both places you visited
were quite LARGE in volume - this reduces the chances of the sawdust
catching fire (exploding is one possibility I am told).
Any open flame is risky around a small woodshop. Natural gas
may be nice and inexpensive compared to electricity for heat, but
in a small space it does increase your risk for dust explosions.
No I don't know anyone that this has happened to. I don't know
anyone whose grain elevator exploded either, but we have
all read about those in the paper .
