You didn't mention Sears, but here is $0.03 worth (inflation, you know).

I used to borrow my neighbor's old, cast-aluminum Sears belt sander.
It worked great, never threw belts, had lots of power.

I bought one of the newer Sears ones; it was unweildy, didn't sand
evenly, threw belts (required constant attention on the adjustment know
to keep the belt on). After a couple months of frustration, I took
it back (thought maybe I had just got a lemon). The new one didn't
throw belts, but just doesn't seem to sand evenly.

Anyway, I (sorry to say) can't recommend their belt sander.
