I've also used this sander for the past few weeks, for wood and finish
sanding, and second Phil's recommendation. The 3M sandpaper discs
supplied by Porter Cable usually cost about $10-12 for 50, and grits are
limited to 80, 100, 120, 150? I bought discs from Econ-Abrasives
(1-800-367-4101): 100-150 grit rolls of 125 discs are $15.51, 80 grit
rolls of 125 discs are $16.80, white silicon carbide. Grits up to
320 are available.
They also sell aluminum oxide 'F' weight paper discs, resin bond, for
$35/roll of 100. These are very long wearing, sanding-belt like discs
for wood sanding - grits in 60, 80, 100 and up.
