19 ALT (SGPT)

Increase of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT, formerly
called "SGPT") is seen in any condition involving necrosis of
hepatocytes, myocardial cells, erythrocytes, or skeletal muscle
cells. [See "Bilirubin, total," below]
