The Grateful Dead - A Photofilm From Paul McCartney ( ) A nine minute film,
consisting of photographs of the Grateful Dead, shot in 1967-68 by Linda
(Eastman) McCartney (who died in April, 1998 of breast cancer), and edited
by Paul McCartney.
The Grateful Dead: Anthem To Beauty (Rhino Home Video R3 2385, January 27,
1998) A 75 minute VHS stereo video about the making of the "Anthem Of The
Sun" and "American Beauty" albums. Directed by British filmmaker Jeremy
Marr. First shown in April, 1998 (about 45 minutes worth) on VH-1 as part
of their "Classic Albums" series. About an hour of this video was shown
on PBS during their pledge drives in August, 1998. The complete video was
shown on the BBC, who had also produced the video.

Headcandy: Sidney's Psychedelic Adventure ( ) A 60 minute long VHS videotape
of 3-D visuals which includes music by Merl Saunders and Jerry Garcia.
Included with the tape are two pairs of 3-D prism glasses and a stick of
incense. Created by Chris Juul.
Nerds 2.0.1: A Brief History Of The Internet (Oregon Public Broadcasting,
1998) Industry columnist Robert X. Cringely explains how the Internet came
to be. In the third segment, "Wiring The World", Cringely travels to San
Francisco in a VW van, while "Truckin'" is played in the background. He
interviews David Gans, who states that 'tape traders are responsible for 18
percent of the packet traffic on the net', and then immediately recants that.
Planet Drum - Mickey Hart ( ) A video featuring Planet Drum performances from
October 21, 1998 at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City, during their
"Supralingua" tour. It includes "Frog Dance" (live), "Temple Caves" (set to
footage of the N train), "Secret Meeting Place" (live), "Bones" (live),
"Shango" (live), "Speedbag" (live), and "Fire On The Mountain" (live). It
also includes interview segments with Walter Cronkite, Mickey Hart and the
band members, and others. Shown on PBS during their August, 1999 fund-raising
drive.
