2.13.22 Tournament
The Tournament Committee will:
2.13.22.1Be responsible for the maintenance of the Tournament Guide.
2.13.22.2Solicit bids and make recommendations to the E.C. for
sanctions for the U.S. Open, U.S. Closed, and U.S. Open Team
Championships.
2.13.22.3Sanction all other open, closed, invitational, and special
tournaments that meet the requirements of the Tournament Guide.
2.13.22.4Distribute tournament directives.
2.13.22.5Enforce all tournament rules and regulations as specified in
the Constitution, By-Laws, and Tournament Guide.
2.13.22.6Appoint regional tournament directors to perform duties
stated in the Tournament Guide and to assist tournament sponsors in
their region. Each regional tournament director will, within his
region:
2.13.22.6.1Approve or disapprove requests for sanction of all
tournaments in his region except the U.S. Open, U.S. Closed, U.S. Open
Team Championships, National Inter-Collegiate Championships, and the
U.S. Olympic Festival table tennis event.
2.13.22.6.2Collect the results and financial obligations from the
sponsors of tournaments listed in By-Law2.13.22.6.1.
2.13.22.6.3Distribute the tournament results and reports to the Rating
Committee Chairman, the editor of the National Publication, and the
Treasurer.
2.13.22.6.4Keep complete records of the tournaments held.
2.13.22.6.5Seek to increase the number and improve the quality of
tournaments.
