I've got one too. Basically I bought it because I don't have room in
our current house for a big stationary Delta, and we plan on moving pretty
soon so I don't want to do the rewiring required. Price mattered, too.
The BT-3000 has lots of nice features, but also some drawbacks. The day
I got it I snapped several of the plastic parts: the clips on the
optional stand to hold the fences out of the way are really badly designed,
but fortunately they don't impact my use of the saw. I also chipped one of
the plastic pieces used to attach the sliding miter table while I was
aligning it - the good thing was that the replacement part cost $1.50.
I was a bit ham-handed with the saw when I got it - with a little care
it should pose no problems.
The motor seems a bit underpowered when ripping, but on the whole the saw
fits my needs pretty well. Our local Builder's Square had it for $529
including the stand - perhaps the best feature of all.
For under $1000 I would take a serious look at Delta's 36-755 cabinet saw.
Tool Crib has it for $899.
