Well, it seems that the bit has a tendency to walk out of the collet.
The problem is worse if the bit is wide (a Roman ogee, for instance)
than it is if the bit is narrow (a .25' radius rounding over).
I talked to Sears about it and was assured that no Sears router would
ever have such a problem, but that I could talk to parts and service
and maybe they could help. Service wanted to send my router away for 3
weeks, which sees a bit extreme to replace the collet. I've heard that
this is a common problem, and that a replacement collet exists.
Has anyone else had this problem (the one with the router, not the
one with Sears in general)? How did you solve it? Anybody got a part
number?
Please e-mail responses; I'm too busy to regularly read the news for
the response. THANKS!!
